Pretties by Scott Westerfield is the second book in the series that began with Uglies. It is based on the same main character named Tally except she has now become a Pretty and has realized her old ugly friend is trying to reach her so he can give her the cure. The cure consists of two pills that remove the bad stuff that the doctors put in her brain. But, all goes wrong when she takes one pill and gives the other to her new boyfriend. But soon after her boyfriend begins experiencing horrible head pains. truth is revealed later when Tally's old friend tells her that one pill was the one that removed the bad stuff and the other was the one that kept the pain away, and that you need both to be cured fully. I liked this book because it started right where the Uglies book had left off. I would recommend this book to whoever enjoyed the book Uglies.
