The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe By: C.S. Lewis

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, by C.S. Lewis, is about four children who defeat evil in the land of Narnia. They meet lot of new friends on the way and fight in a battle against the horrible white witch, who makes it always winter and can turn living things into stone! My favorite part was probably when the king of Narnia, the lion, Aslan, restores everyone who was stone back into a living being. I did not like the violent parts.

Blind Sight by: James H. Pence

There was a cult, the started as a joke, but became true and began to take over the world. Now, a man whose wife has escaped the Fellowship (but is being hunted) is sending his children away to the safety of Thomas Kent. He expects Thomas to get them back to their mother, Justine Bishop. But that does prove easy. Thomas is still hurting from the deaths of his own family. One of the kids is blind. The 3 are being chased by killers. Thomas must keep himself and his new friends alive, find Justine, destroy the Fellowship, and come back to God.
This book was really good. I didn't want to put it down. It also a lot about "facing your fears" and staying close to God, even when it feels like he has abandoned you . . . because he never will.

Eric Liddell by: Catherine Swift

Eric Liddell is the son of a missionary in China. Eric's God given talent is running and participates in the Olympics. However, when it seems like sports is the direction of life for Eric, the power of the Bible turns him into being a missionary. This is a heartfelt book that shows you the grace of God and the happy life of being a Christian can bring you. Reading this book can only make you a better person. My favorite part was when Eric breaks the time record for the 400 meter race.

The Magician's Nephew by: C.S. Lewis

The books starts off with when Digory meets his neighbor Polly, and they become friends. They then decided to have an adventure through the passage way between the houses. When they thought they were going to a mysterious house, they ended up in Digory's Uncle Andrew's attic. Uncle Andrew gave Polly a ring, which made her disappear. Then Uncle Andrew had Digory use another one to get her. He also gave him two to bring them back. When Digory used the ring he appeared in another world. It was a forest with a bunch of ponds. He found Polly, but they decided not to go back so soon. So they picked a random pond and went in. They went to one that was in ruins. They then read a passage, and rang a bell. It had awaken a Queen (who was also an evil witch). They then tried to use the rings to escape from her, but she held on to them. They by accident brought her back with them. She then raised chaos in front of Digory's house. After a little while, Digory and Polly brought her back, but also brought the horse she was on, a Cabby, and his Uncle Andrew. They then appeared in an empty world. Which was then being created by Aslan. The Withe then ran off. Aslan then sent him on an errand to grab an apple from a sacred tree. That was with the help from the horse that came along, which now has wings. At the garden he meets up with the Witch, who tries to get him to eat an apple from the tree, and give one to his sick mother. He refused to because the apples were forbidden to be eaten. He then went back to Aslan where the apple was planted to protect Narnia from the Witch. The Cabby and his wife (who was summoned there by Aslan) were proclaimed King and Queen of Narnia. Then Aslan gave Digory one of the apples to give to his sick mother. Digory, Polly, and Uncle Andrew then were sent back home by Aslan. Digory then gave the apple to his mother, and she was then better. He then buried the apple core and all the magical rings. The apples then grew into a tree, which when he was older turned into a wardrobe. My favorite part was when Digory planted a toffee and it grew into a toffee tree. And that anything can be planted, and then it grows into a tree that produces that.
