This past summer a group of middle and high school students enrolled in summer school came to the library for a tour and orientation. While stopped in the teen room they noticed we didn't have any magazines written en español.
I started thinking about this and realized there are a lot of spanish speaking teens that visit the library and it is kind of silly not to have a magazine of interest for them. Besides, we have magazines written in spanish for adults.
So I did a little research and asked a few colleagues for suggestions. Now I'd like some input from our teen customers to see which title you think we should add to our collection. If you would like the library to consider a title that isn't listed below leave me a comment with the title of the magazine included.
LàTeen
LàTeen Magazine provides the Latino teen community with positive reading material that is relevant to the Hispanic experience. We strive to empower and educate the next generation of Hispanics through articles that highlight Hispanic success. We believe in education, equality, and pride in being brown. (The description is from their website. I have previewed an issue and feel it is important to note it is written in english).
Latina
[O]ur mission has been to entertain and inspire Hispanic women with award-winning content that covers Latin culture, style, beauty, food, music and celebrities, and to create products and services that always have, at their core, the real Latina woman—her unique needs, her unique lifestyle. (The description is from their website. This also appears to be written in english and possibly geared more towards adults than teens.)
Tu (This title was recommended but I have not been able to find any information about it.)
Leave me a comment below to let me know if you'd like to see any of these magazines at the Nashua Public Library.

Great idea Jenn. Maybe you should get more than one. Just a thought. - Steve
