Each day our library receives several new arrivals. Following are a few of our "latest and greatest" books to help keep you " on the cutting edge":
Dark of the moon by John Sandford: Vergil Flowers investigates the murders of a man burned to death in his home.
Down river by John Hart: A man returns to his hometown, where his family still believe him guilty of a crime for which he was acquitted.
Exit ghost by Philip Roth, the last of his novels to star Nathan Zuckerman. (There is a good interview with Roth on public radio's 'Fresh Air' this past Tuesday evening.)
Pontoon: a Lake Wobegon novel by Garrison Keillor. Keillor's first Wobegon fiction since Lake Wobegon Summer 1956 was published six years ago.
The worst thing I've sone: A novel by Ursula Hegi, exploring the dynamics of a love triangle.
The day of battle: the war in Sicily and Italy, 1943-1944 by Rick Atkinson, about the American forces operating in Italy during WWII. (The book is a nice accompaniment to Lynn Novick and Ken Burns' The War, currently airing on PBS).
Giving: how each of us can change the world by Bill Clinton, an inspiring look at how individuals' efforts can save lives and solve problems.
Things I overheard while talking to myself by Alan Alda, an insightful and funny look at some of the rhetoric questions Alda has asked himself.
