Meet Author Chris Bohjalian

Thanks to the Friends of the Library, author Chris Bohjalian will come to Nashua on Sunday, October 25 to talk about Skeletons at the Feast, the 2009 Nashua Reads: One City, One Book selection.

After speaking for about 45 minutes, he’ll answer your questions and sign copies of his books. If you want some time to speak to him up close and tell him how you liked Skeletons (or maybe what you thought of the ending of The Double Bind), buy a ticket to the private wine and cheese reception beforehand (and help support the Friends of the Library at the same time!).

How to buy tickets
Tickets are $5 for the public presentation. Or purchase a $25 ticket, good for the private reception as well as the presentation. Buy tickets (cash or check only) either at the library, One World Trading (111 Main Street, Nashua), or Beckonings (221 Main Street, Nashua). You can also order tickets by mail using this order form. If you have questions, call 888-3298 or email beyondthebook@nplfriends.com.

The event will be held at the Rivier College Dion Center.

Red wine or white?
The committee has been planning this event for over a year now, and it’s exciting to see all the details falling into place. We had a stimulating brainstorming session to come up with the title of the event (“Beyond the Book: An Afternoon with Chris Bohjalian”) that we can use year after year—substituting another author’s name, of course. We’ve gotten Toadstool Bookshops to agree to sell copies of Chris’s books during the event. We’re making lists of everything we need to have on hand that day (although we’re pretty sure Chris brings his favorite pen for signing books). And since we’d like to serve local wines at the private reception, next week some of us are going to LaBelle Winery in Amherst, NH, for a tasting. (Wanna join the committee?)

We’ve already sold over 60 of the $5 tickets, and about 20 of the $25 tickets (only 50 of those are available, so don’t wait too long to get yours).
